HBO Max Increases Prices on All Plans After Disney+ and Apple TV Hikes

Warner Bros. Discovery recently announced that HBO Max is increasing its prices for new subscribers across all plans. This price hike is the third in three years, and it’s definitely hitting us in the wallet. Here are the new prices for HBO Max plans that are effective immediately for new subscriptions:

– HBO Max Basic with Ads (stream on two devices simultaneously): Monthly, +$1 to $10.99; annually, $10 increase to $109.99
– HBO Max Standard (no ads, stream on two devices simultaneously): Monthly, +$1.50 to $18.49; annual, $15 increase to $184.99
– HBO Max Premium (no ads, 4K content, stream on four devices simultaneously): Monthly, +$2 increase to $22.99; annual: $20 increase to $229.99

Existing monthly subscribers will receive a notification a month in advance of their plan renewing, and they will see price increases starting from their next billing date on or after Nov. 20. Current yearly subscribers won’t see an increase until their accounts are up for renewal (and they will receive a 30-day advance notice). Additionally, the prices of the HBO Max, Disney+, and Hulu bundles are increasing by $3 per month. The bundle with ads is now $19.99 a month with a 41% discount compared to purchasing the services separately. With the no-ads tier, it’s $32.99 a month.

This price increase follows similar moves by Disney+, Hulu, and Apple TV, who have all recently raised subscription prices on their platforms. So if you’re a fan of HBO Max, it’s time to adjust your budget accordingly.
