February Streamer Rankings: Olympics and Prime Video Dominate
In the month of February, two big contenders stole the show on Looper Insights’ Streamer of the Month Report. The Winter Olympics, which was available for streaming on Peacock, along with Prime Video both dominated the charts.
The report takes an in-depth look at the top 10 entertainment streaming apps and titles featured on CTV platforms in the USA, all ranked using Looper’s specialized Dollar Media Placement Value ($MPV) metric.
When it comes to top titles in February, the Winter Olympics at Milano Cortina reigned supreme with an impressive $10.58 million in $MPN value. Following closely behind was Prime Video, leading the pack with $187.7 million, along with The Roku Channel at $127.9 million and Tubi at $123.4 million.
Sliding from number one in January to second place in February was Warner Bros. Pictures’ acclaimed “One Battle After Another,” a dark comedy action flick helmed by Paul Thomas Anderson and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn. This film took home a total of six Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Maintaining its spot at number three was the engaging medical drama “The Pitt” on HBO Max which follows the lives of ER staff during a 15-hour shift each episode. Dropping to fourth place was Universal’s dark comedy “Bugonia,” making a splash on Peacock. The storyline revolves around two conspiracy theorists who kidnap a CEO they believe to be an alien bent on Earth’s destruction.
Coming in at number five was “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” which debuted on HBO Max and concluded its first season by transporting viewers to George R.R. Martin’s world of Westeros, featuring two unlikely heroes on a noble adventure.
Warner Bros.’ “Sinners” starring Michael B. Jordan saw a rise in rankings, moving to sixth place after its release on HBO Max. This film took home several Oscars and delves into the lives of twin brothers amid dark pasts and fresh beginnings.
The rest of the top chart contenders included “Cross” on Prime Video, season two of “Landman” on Paramount+, and “The ‘Burbs” on Peacock. “Fallout” clinched the tenth position after its second season dropped on Prime Video last December.
For the top 10 apps in February, Prime Video took the crown with a whopping $187.7 million, followed closely by The Roku Channel and Tubi. Other notable platforms in the top 10 include Peacock, HBO Max, Pluto TV, Disney+, Paramount+, Hulu, and Apple TV.
These charts give us a good sense of the streaming landscape and the exciting content that viewers are flocking to month after month.
