Fubo names Alisa Bowen CEO, Former Disney+ President
Fubo has recently announced the appointment of Alisa Bowen as the new Chief Executive Officer effective July 10th. Bowen brings with her nearly 30 years of experience in product, digital, media, and operations in major global media markets. She has previously worked at The Walt Disney Company as the President of Disney+ and has also held leadership roles at News Corporation, Dow Jones, and Thomson Reuters.
The decision to appoint Bowen comes at a crucial time for Fubo, following its combination with Hulu + Live TV last year. With a broader pay TV platform, a strong content portfolio, and integration within the Disney ecosystem, Fubo is looking towards its next phase of growth across sports, news, and entertainment under Bowen’s leadership.
As CEO, Bowen’s priorities will include refining the company’s strategy, driving growth, enhancing profitability, and delivering greater value to Fubo and Hulu + Live subscribers, advertisers, content partners, and shareholders. Pending approval by the Board, Bowen is also expected to join Fubo’s Board of Directors.
Fubo is a live TV streaming company focused on providing premium sports, news, and entertainment programming to consumers. It owns Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and Molotov, operating in markets worldwide. The company has been recognized as the sixth largest pay TV provider in the U.S. and has received accolades for being among the Most Innovative Companies and Fastest-Growing Companies in recent years.
In a statement, Bowen expressed her excitement about leading Fubo into its next phase, emphasizing the focus on sports, news, and entertainment, as well as growth, profitability, and value creation. Andy Bird, Chairman of the Board at Fubo, thanked David Gandler, the co-founder and former CEO, for his leadership and vision in building Fubo into what it is today.
Gandler, in turn, expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the Fubo team over the past 11 years and his confidence in the company’s future growth and success. With Bowen at the helm, Fubo is poised for continued innovation and industry leadership.
