Stranger Things creators discuss challenges writing final season
Stranger Things fans, get ready to go behind the scenes of the final season of the beloved Netflix series with a new documentary. The Duffer brothers, creators of the show, opened up about the challenging process of bringing the epic conclusion to life in “One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5.”
In the documentary, Matt and Ross Duffer revealed the intense pressure they faced as they worked on the final season without a completed script. Despite the chaos and noise surrounding production, they reassured the team that the ending was “all plotted out,” even though they were running low on time to actually write it.
After almost a decade and five seasons, Stranger Things wrapped up on New Year’s Eve with a two-plus-hour finale titled “The Rightside Up.” The documentary takes viewers to the midway point of production, where they’re gearing up to film the final episode without the script fully written yet.
Actor Finn Wolfhard shared that the cast spent a year on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the final season. The Duffer brothers revealed that they only finalized the script the week before the table read, where the cast finally got a glimpse of how it all ends.
Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has captivated audiences with its supernatural events in Hawkins, Indiana. The show’s popularity soared with its fourth season, becoming Netflix’s most-watched English-language series briefly until its fifth and final season stole the spotlight.
In its first week, Volume One of the final season amassed an incredible 59.6 million views, surpassing the previous record held by Wednesday. Ross and Matt Duffer expressed their gratitude for the continued support of the fans, actors, and artists who brought the story to life, thanking everyone for making the show a decade-long success.
“One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5” is now available to stream on Netflix for fans eager to dive deeper into the making of the final season. So grab your Eggo waffles and settle in for a trip back to the Upside Down one last time!
