Warner Bros. Discovery Increases HBO Max Prices for All Plans

The popular streaming service HBO Max, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, has announced that it will be increasing prices across all of its subscription plans. Here’s what you need to know about the changes.

The Basic plan with ads will now cost $10.99 per month, up by $1. The Standard plan will be raised by $1.50 to $18.49, and the Premium plan will see a $2 increase to $22.99. These changes will apply immediately to new subscribers, while existing monthly subscribers will receive a notification 30 days before their plan renews, with the new prices taking effect on or after November 20.

The decision to raise prices reflects a trend in the industry, with other major streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV, and Netflix also implementing price hikes in recent months. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, David Zaslav, noted that the company believes it is “underpriced” compared to the quality of its content, signaling that more changes may be on the horizon.

As of June 30, Warner Bros. Discovery reported a total of 125.7 million paying subscribers across all of its streaming services, including HBO Max. This news comes as the company prepares to split into two public entities by 2026, with a focus on its streaming and studios business, as well as its global networks operations.
