Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. star in Hulu’s new comedy inspired by The Cable Guy

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. are teaming up once again, this time for a new Hulu comedy pilot inspired by The Cable Guy. Fans of the New Girl co-stars are in for a treat as they bring a fresh take to the cult classic on its 30th anniversary.

In this untitled pilot, Johnson plays an old-school cable technician who reconnects with a childhood friend, portrayed by Wayans Jr. The storyline takes a twist into a darkly absurd examination of modern-day male friendship, providing a new angle on the original film directed by Ben Stiller.
