Love Island USA Week Two Ratings Surge by 40%toHaveBeenCalledWithStreaming
Love Island USA fans, get ready for some exciting news! The show has shot up 40% in viewership in its second week, delivering a whopping 1.83 billion minutes of viewing for the week of June 8-14. This number is a significant 68% increase from this time last year. And, just to give you some context, this week’s performance is the second-best viewing week in the show’s history, second only to the last week of season seven in July 2025 that clocked in at 1.93 billion minutes!
Out of the 1.83 billion minutes watched this week, a large chunk can be attributed to the six episodes that aired during this period, totaling about 1.15 billion minutes. Other season eight episodes raked in an additional 515 million minutes, while previous seasons, like those currently available on Disney+ and Paramount+, pulled in the remainder.
Despite facing some tough competition due to the men’s World Cup start, Love Island managed to hold its ground as the only title to cross the billion-minute mark this week. Sweet Magnolias, kicking off its fifth season on Netflix, grabbed second place among original series with 806 million minutes watched.
Dutton Ranch, however, saw a slight decline in viewership, slipping to 746 million minutes from 840 million the previous week. Part of this slump may be attributed to an episode that aired on June 12 being a tad shorter than usual. On the other hand, Hulu’s Shrill, freshly added to Netflix on June 8, secured a spot in the top 10 originals.
The movie chart topper, in terms of viewing time for the week, was the true-crime documentary Maternal Instinct with 665 million minutes, closely followed by Hoppers with 663 million minutes on Disney+.
Remember, these ratings only cover watching time on TV sets, and U.S. audiences are the focus. So, whether you’re a fan of crime documentaries, romantic reality TV, or epic western dramas, this week’s chart is sure to have something that tickles your fancy!
