Mayor of Kingstown: Final Season Filming Concludes in Pittsburgh
“Mayor of Kingstown” has just finished filming its fifth and final season in Pittsburgh. This Paramount+ show began filming in western Pennsylvania back in 2022 and has made a significant impact on the local economy. According to the Pittsburgh Film Office, the show has injected over $325 million into the area and generated more than 10,000 jobs. In fact, the production has had 457 shoot days in the Pittsburgh region, making it the longest-running series the city has hosted.
The fifth and final season, consisting of eight episodes, started filming in March. The new season will revolve around the arrival of an FBI agent characterized as a “dedicated lawman” who comes to Kingstown and disrupts the delicate balance of power. Jeremy Renner, who plays Mike McLusky in the show, shared his gratitude on Instagram as the series came to an end. He expressed his thanks for the support he received over the years, mentioning that it has been essential in his recovery and healing process.
Renner’s return to the set for Season 3 was notably significant as he had suffered serious injuries in a snowplow accident on New Year’s Day in 2023. He recalled that being a part of the “Mayor of Kingstown” family helped him cope during his challenging times. The cast and crew of the show have reciprocated this feeling, expressing their appreciation for the warm welcome they received from the Pittsburgh community.
The official release date for Season 5 is yet to be announced, so fans will have to stay tuned for more updates on the show. It’s exciting to see Pittsburgh play such a vital role in the production of this popular series, bringing both economic opportunities and a strong sense of belonging to the local community.
