Ghost in the Shell 2 Now Available on Disney+ in Anime Deal

Disney+ is gearing up to bring some exciting Japanese anime films to its viewers in the U.K. and France. Thanks to a licensing deal with Anime Limited, fans can look forward to enjoying favorites like “Your Name.” and “Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.” This news comes as Disney+ and Hulu kick off their Animayhem campaign with a bang, promising new anime titles this summer.

The lineup of films includes works from renowned directors like Shinkai Makoto (“Your Name,” “Weathering with You”), Hosoda Mamoru (“Mirai,” “Belle,” “Wolf Children,” “Summer Wars,” “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”), Oshii Mamoru (“Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence”), and Kon Satoshi (“Perfect Blue”). Notably, Yamada Naoko’s “A Silent Voice” and Otomo Katsuhiro’s “Akira” will be exclusive to the U.K. and Ireland, while other titles will be available in both the U.K. and France. Excitingly, some films like “Belle,” “Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence,” “Mirai,” and “Weathering with You” will be making their streaming debut in both regions.
