“Michael Jackson Biopic Now Streaming: Everything You Need to Know”

When “Michael” first hit theaters, there were some doubts about when it would be available for streaming. But those concerns were quickly put to rest. The musical biopic, which premiered on April 24, is now ready for streaming on premium video on demand as of June 9.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, “Michael” stars Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson, depicting the singer from his teenage years to adulthood. The movie follows Michael’s journey from his days with The Jackson 5 as a 10-year-old played by Juliano Valde, to his iconic “Bad” album tour in 1988. The film also features Colman Domingo and Nia Long as Michael Jackson’s parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, and Miles Teller as his longtime manager, John Branca.

For those eager to watch, “Michael” is currently available for purchase on PVOD for $24.99 via platforms like Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video, and YouTube Movies & TV. And if renting is more your style, it should be available for $19.99 for a 48-hour viewing window.

Having already raked in $97 million in North American ticket sales during its opening week, “Michael” has been a massive success. As of now, the film has earned $340.1 million domestically and $509.6 million internationally, totaling a whopping $849.7 million at the global box office. And all of this was accomplished with a production budget of $200 million, excluding marketing expenses.

While “Michael” may not have won over all the critics, scoring a 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it has definitely resonated with audiences, boasting a 97% fresh score based on over 25,000 user ratings on RT’s Popcornmeter.

In addition to its digital release, “Michael” will also be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD starting on July 14. So, if you’re a fan of music biopics or just curious about the King of Pop’s life story, this is definitely one to check out.
