Disney+ Announces New Animated Series “Journey”

Disney+ has some exciting news for animation fans! They’ve given the green light to a new original animated series called “Journey.” The show follows a young heroine named Journey who embarks on a quest beyond the protective shield of her city to uncover the truth about her father’s disappearance. Along the way, she discovers a powerful magic within herself that could save her people.

This enchanting series, filled with music and magic, is a collaboration between Disney Kids & Family and Higher Ground. The production will be handled by ICON Creative Studio in association with Disney Television Animation. The series is created by Matt Munn, known for his work on “Ice Age: Collision Course” and “Spies in Disguise,” and executive produced by Steve Loter, a Peabody Award winner for his work on “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” and “Kim Possible.” Jessie Dicovitsky from Higher Ground is also an executive producer on the project.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Kids & Family, highlighted that “Journey” is a story of courage, resilience, and self-discovery that captures universal themes that have defined Disney stories for generations. Jessie Dicovitsky of Higher Ground expressed pride in creating a bold, imaginative series that combines adventure, imagination, and music.

“Journey” joins an impressive lineup of family-friendly series on Disney+, including favorites like “Bluey,” “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+,” and “Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends.” The show aims to expand Disney’s animated offerings with new original content and a fresh storyline.
