Prime Video Introduces HBO Max Subscription Channel for New Zealand
HBO Max is joining the Prime Video lineup in New Zealand on June 16, bringing a variety of popular HBO, Warner Bros., DC, and Discovery content to Kiwi audiences. Subscribers in New Zealand can opt for either the Standard or Premium monthly plans, with special launch prices of NZ$10.99 and NZ$15.99 per month for the first six months for those who sign up before July 16. It’s worth noting that no Prime membership is required to access this new channel.
The HBO Max catalog will feature beloved HBO originals like Succession, Euphoria, The White Lotus, and the upcoming season of House of the Dragon, which premieres on June 22. In addition to these hits, subscribers can also enjoy Warner Bros. titles and upcoming releases such as the iconic Harry Potter series and DC’s Lanterns. With the addition of HBO Max, Prime Video expands its offerings in New Zealand, making it the 26th subscription channel to join the platform.
Alexandra Gilbert, the head of content at Prime Video ANZ, expressed the company’s excitement about enhancing the entertainment options for New Zealand viewers. She highlighted that Prime Video is a go-to hub for premium content, boasting a vast selection of original series and movies, licensed content, live sports, thousands of movies for rent or purchase, and premium subscriptions from top entertainment brands.
Shonali Bedi, the head of strategy, partnerships, and insights at Warner Bros. Discovery APAC, shared her enthusiasm for extending the partnership with Prime Video to New Zealand. She noted the success of HBO Max subscriptions in other markets like Australia, commending Prime Video as strong and collaborative partners. Bedi expressed anticipation for the upcoming launch in New Zealand, underscoring the valuable collaboration between the teams involved.
