Yellowstone spin-off series sets new streaming record
Paramount+ has hit a home run with its latest series, Dutton Ranch, the newest addition to Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe. Starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, the show has smashed records since its premiere on May 15th. In just its first week, Dutton Ranch pulled in a whopping 12.9 million views on Paramount+, making it the platform’s most successful original series debut to date.
Not stopping there, the show also drew in 2.9 million live-plus-same-day viewers on its premiere night on Paramount Network, solidifying its position as the biggest new cable series premiere since 2023. Dutton Ranch is the fourth installment in the popular Yellowstone franchise, following the success of 1883, 1923, and Marshals. The show has been well-received by critics, holding an impressive 88 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite its undeniable success, Dutton Ranch faced some behind-the-scenes changes, with reports of original creator Chad Feehman’s departure due to creative differences. This led to Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind the Yellowstone universe, handing over creative control to the show’s talented cast.
With big names like Annette Bening and Ed Harris joining the cast, Dutton Ranch is poised to continue its reign as a fan favorite in the world of streaming entertainment. If you’re a fan of compelling drama and captivating storytelling, be sure to check out Dutton Ranch on Paramount+.
