Taylor Sheridan Drama Sets Record on Paramount+ Streaming
Taylor Sheridan’s latest creation, “Dutton Ranch,” has shattered streaming records on Paramount+, becoming the platform’s most successful original series launch to date. The show, which follows the tumultuous journey of power couple Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they relocate to South Texas, debuted with the first two episodes on May 15th.
Within just seven days of its premiere, the show garnered an impressive 12.9 million views, easily surpassing the previous record holder. On its premiere night on Paramount Network, “Dutton Ranch” also drew 2.9 million live-plus-same-day viewers, marking the biggest new cable series premiere since 2023.
This series is the latest addition to Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe, which first began in 2018 with the original series starring Kevin Costner. Since then, Sheridan has expanded the franchise with successful spin-offs like “1883” and “1923.”
“Dutton Ranch” features a stellar cast led by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who bring their characters to life amidst the stunning backdrop of South Texas. Despite some behind-the-scenes drama that led to the exit of the show’s original creator, Chad Feehman, the series has resonated with audiences and critics alike.
In a recent interview, Reilly shared her thoughts on the show, emphasizing the differences between “Dutton Ranch” and its predecessor, “Yellowstone.” While the show remains a part of the Yellowstone universe, it offers a fresh and distinct perspective on the world Sheridan has created.
As the Yellowstone saga continues to captivate audiences, “Dutton Ranch” stands out as a compelling addition to the beloved franchise. With its record-breaking success and engaging storyline, the show promises to keep viewers hooked for seasons to come.
