Muddled Story Can’t Be Saved by Colorful Animation

If you’re in the mood for a new family-friendly film on Netflix, you might be considering “Swapped.” But let me tell you, this animated movie may not be the best choice for younger kids. The message seems aimed at an older audience, and the unfamiliar characters might not hold their interest.

In the heart of a woodland where trust is a foreign concept, a lovable Pookoo and a birdlike Javan find themselves in each other’s bodies. They must join forces to understand one another and save their forest from destruction.

Featuring voices from top-notch actors like Michael B. Jordan, Tracy Morgan, and Juno Temple, the characters are brought to life with distinct voices. However, the dialogue might be a bit hard to follow, leaving you wanting more.

Directed by Nathan Greno and written by a team of talented writers, “Swapped” falls short in terms of plot and target audience. It’s a bit too complex for young children and lacks the appeal for older viewers who prefer more sophisticated content.

While the animated characters are charming and the Javans are visually captivating, they might not be enough to keep you engaged throughout the film. As it stands, “Swapped” is currently streaming on Netflix with a PG rating, but I can only give it one star. With so many great options out there, this one might not be worth your time.
