Disney+ and Hulu to Anchor ‘One Disney’ Super App Formation

Disney is gearing up to launch an exciting new venture called “One Disney” – a super app that will combine all aspects of its business, from movies and TV to parks, consumer products, and technology. The goal is to bring everything Disney under one digital roof, making it easier for consumers to engage with the brand at every level.

Announced by CFO Hugh Johnston at the MoffettNathanson’s Media, Internet & Communications Conference, Disney’s plan involves integrating Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited into a seamless experience. By transforming Disney+ into a digital centerpiece, the company aims to create a hub for relationships with its customers, offering them more content and strengthening their emotional connection to the Disney brand.

In recent financial reports, it was revealed that Disney+ and Hulu brought in $582 million in operating income in the last fiscal quarter, marking an 88% increase from the previous year. Streaming revenue has also seen growth, with a 13% increase year-over-year to $5.49 billion, driven by subscription price adjustments made in 2025. These changes have resulted in a remarkable operating margin exceeding 10%, reflecting the success of Disney’s digital strategies.

Johnston emphasized the transformation of Disney’s direct-to-consumer business, highlighting the shift towards profitability under previous CEO Bob Iger. The focus now is on maintaining double-digit streaming operating margins and delivering on the company’s commitments to innovation and growth. With plans to launch “One Disney” in the near future, Disney is embracing the digital age and creating new opportunities for fans to engage with their favorite content.
