Damián Szifron Starts Shooting Netflix Film in Argentina

Damián Szifron is back making magic in Buenos Aires! The talented director has kicked off production on his new comedy drama, “El Sobrino,” Leonardo Sbaraglia and Rita Cortese are at the helm of this heartwarming tale about a pianist whose world is turned upside down by his nephew’s musical talents.

This musical journey takes us from Buenos Aires to Hamburg, London, and New York, exploring the wonders of classical music along the way. Joining Sbaraglia and Cortese are Luisana Lopilato, Valeria Lois, and newcomer Luan Adler Fuks, with special appearances by Vincent Macaigne and Franco Nero.

Szifron penned the screenplay for this film, which is being produced by K&S Films. Hugo Sigman, Matías Mosteirin, and Leticia Cristi are among the individual producers bringing this project to life.

After the success of “Wild Tales,” Szifron went on to direct the thrilling “To Catch A Killer” in 2023. Fun fact: he was also linked to Warner Bros’ “The Six Billion Dollar Man” before creative differences led him to step away from the project in 2018.

In other exciting news, John Lee Hancock’s legal drama, “Monsanto,” is gearing up to shoot in Germany for Netflix. The star-studded cast includes Laura Dern and Jonathan Bailey, promising an intense and gripping viewing experience for all of us streaming enthusiasts.
