Tom Hardy and Chris Pine Action Movie Leaving HBO Max

HBO Max is saying goodbye to the spy-comedy film This Means War on Thursday, April 30, 2026, which means it won’t be available for streaming for subscribers anymore. The movie, released in 2012, stars Tom Hardy and Chris Pine and tells the story of two CIA best friends who realize they’re dating the same woman. Directed by McG, the film also features Reese Witherspoon and was co-produced by Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment.

Back in 1998, 20th Century Fox acquired Marcus Gautesen’s spec script, and over the years, there were revisions mentioned by TIME, with Bradley Cooper stepping down from a potential role in 2010. Despite some ups and downs, the movie managed to bring in $156.4 million at the box office, surpassing its reported $65 million budget. However, it received mixed reviews, with critics giving it a 24% rating and audiences a 56% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s always tough to say goodbye to a favorite movie on a streaming platform, but luckily, there are always new titles to look forward to. So, if This Means War is on your must-watch list, make sure to catch it before it leaves HBO Max at the end of the month!
