Daredevil Season 2 Fails to Rank on Nielsen

Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 didn’t make Nielsen’s streaming originals chart for its premiere week, so Vincent D’Onofrio might need a tissue. The first episode aired on March 24 on Disney+, but Nielsen’s Top 10 Original Series chart didn’t include it. The top spot went to Netflix’s Beauty in Black with a whopping 1.362 billion minutes watched, followed by HBO Max’s The Pitt with 1.208 billion. Peaky Blinders brought up the rear with 449 million minutes. This means Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 really missed the mark for its first week, clocking in below that 449 million mark. The series isn’t doing much better than its last season, which also missed the Nielsen chart, with episodes coming in under 373 million minutes each. But not all hope is lost for Marvel on Disney+, as they have more in store. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is already filming and promises to bring back some familiar street-level Marvel characters. There’s even a Punisher special with Jon Bernthal set to debut on May 12. Marvel might not be at the top of the charts right now, but they’re not backing down. They’re taking on a new strategy with lower-budget projects, less frequent releases, and content targeted at their loyal fanbase. So while Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 might have had a rough start, there’s more Marvel magic on the way.
