Tim Cook Resigns as Apple CEO – What’s Next for Apple?

Apple made a big announcement: Tim Cook is stepping down as CEO. According to a news release on Monday, Cook will officially step down as chief executive officer on Sept. 1. He has been leading the company since 2011.

Cook will transition to the role of executive chairman of Apple’s board and will continue as CEO until summer to make sure the shift to John Ternus as the next chief executive officer goes smoothly. Reflecting on his time as CEO, Cook expressed his gratitude, saying, “It has been the greatest privilege of my life to be the CEO of Apple and to have been trusted to lead such an extraordinary company.”

When Cook took over as CEO in 2011 after working as the chief operating officer, Apple, known for products like the Mac, iPod, and iPhone, expanded its horizons under his leadership. Now, all eyes are on John Ternus as he prepares to step into the role of Apple’s next CEO.
