NAB 2026: Suite Studios Incorporates File-Streaming Technology in Frame.io Drive

Suite Studios has recently teamed up with Frame.io to integrate their file-streaming technology into the new Frame.io Drive desktop application. This collaboration is designed to make it easier for users to access media files directly within their operating system, eliminating the need for manual downloads or synchronization.

With Frame.io Drive, files will now appear in macOS Finder and Windows File Explorer as if they were stored on a local drive. This feature eliminates the usual tasks of relinking, transferring, or syncing assets, allowing creatives to access media files directly from the platform using their standard production tools.

Craig Hering, Co-Founder and CEO of Suite Studios, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing a leading file streaming solution for the creative industry. By embedding their technology into Frame.io Drive, they aim to enhance workflow efficiency and collaboration for creative teams.

Historically, Frame.io has been known as a review and approval platform where teams export cuts, upload to the service, and manage feedback. However, with the integration of file-streaming technology, users can now access and utilize media assets right from the start of production. Frame.io Drive becomes a central hub for media assets, streamlining the creative process.

For distributed creative teams, such as post-production houses, brand studios, and sports media departments, managing the location of media assets has often led to workflow bottlenecks. By incorporating file streaming, Frame.io provides remote teams with quick access to footage without the delays of manual file transfers. This ensures that collaborators can stay connected to shared files and workflows across different locations while maintaining security standards.
