Disney’s New IMAX Alternative Offers Major Advantage

Disney is changing the game with its new premium large format (PLF) viewing experience called Infinity Vision. This certification ensures that audiences get the best possible cinematic experience with the biggest screens, laser projection for brightness and clarity, and premium audio formats for immersive sound.

While exact details on screen sizes, HDR formats, and Dolby Atmos audio support are still unclear, it’s safe to assume that these factors will play a role in the Infinity Vision experience. And the big question remains – will this technology eventually make its way to Disney+ for home viewing?

Interestingly, Disney already has a solid foundation to build upon, with around 375 PLF theaters worldwide already equipped to support Infinity Vision. This puts them ahead of the game, even though they have fewer theaters compared to the approximately 1700 IMAX-capable auditoriums around the world.

To kick off this new venture, Disney is bringing back the epic 2019 film Avengers: Endgame to theaters. This move is sure to generate buzz and excitement around the Infinity Vision experience. Stay tuned for more updates on Disney’s Infinity Vision and how it could change the way we watch movies in the future.
