Disney Channel Livestream Now Available on Disney+ in Germany
Disney+ is continuing to grow and evolve, with a new exciting update for subscribers in Germany. Starting in May 2026, the Disney Channel will be available for Disney+ subscribers in Germany. This means that alongside linear platforms like satellite and cable, subscribers can enjoy the classic Disney Channel experience on Disney+.
The best part? This new feature won’t cost subscribers any extra money, following the recent trend of including live content like ESPN at no additional cost. While Disney hasn’t confirmed the exact launch date yet, this move is sure to enhance the overall viewing experience for subscribers in Germany.
Eun-Ky Park, SVP Direct-to-Consumer & Networks and Country Manager GSA at The Walt Disney Company, explained that this integration of the Disney Channel with Disney+ was a logical step forward. While the Disney Channel offers a traditional linear schedule for families, Disney+ adds personalized on-demand viewing and live content like the UEFA Women’s Champions League. This combination of linear and streaming options gives subscribers more choices without any added fees.
The Disney Channel in Germany is one of the few international linear channels that has remained open, making it easier for Disney to expand its reach to more people in Germany. In the United States, Disney+ has already introduced curated playlists and live streams, and even included Radio Disney for subscribers in some Latin American countries. So, there’s hope that this feature will continue to spread to other regions over time.
In my opinion, adding a livestream of the Disney Channel on Disney+ is a fantastic move, even though it has taken Disney some time to make it happen.
