Peacock Causes Chaos Among 92-Year-Old Farmer’s Chickens

A peacock caused a stir at a farm near Copdock when it decided to terrorize a 92-year-old farmer’s chickens. Farmer Tom, as he is fondly known in the Suffolk community, found himself with an unexpected guest on his farm. At first, the peacock seemed to get along with the chickens, but things quickly took a turn.

Upon realizing that the peacock was causing chaos and chasing after the cockerels, Farmer Tom’s wife, Sandy, took action. With the help of a friend, a social media appeal was made to find the peacock’s owner. Despite no one coming forward, Easton Farm Park near Woodbridge agreed to take in the bird temporarily.

When Farmer Tom called Sandy all excited about their new farm visitor, she was taken aback. The peacock, who initially seemed like a friendly addition, suddenly turned aggressive towards the chickens. Sandy described how the peacock went “loopy” the next morning, separating the cockerel from the hens and chasing it around.

Even though the peacock asserted his dominance on the farm, Farmer Tom managed to capture the bird and secure it in a pen. Sandy commented on the bird’s behavior, saying, “He thinks he rules the roost, chasing the cockerel all over the place, so we had to take precautions.”

Efforts were made to locate the peacock’s owner, but with no success. Despite being found at a nearby farm previously, it seemed that no one was eager to claim the bird. Farmer Tom expressed both amusement and frustration, mentioning how nice it would be to have a peacock on the farm, but not at the expense of his chickens.

Ultimately, the peacock found temporary refuge at Easton Farm Park, where he could settle down after the stressful ordeal. If all goes well, the bird might just find a permanent home at the park.
