Alan Ritchson’s Netflix show: Influencers compete in survival challenge

Fresh from proving he can survive more than just a guy standing in front of his motorcycle, TV’s Jack Reacher, a.k.a. Alan Ritchson, is ready to put some screen-addicted influencers and headline-makers to the test. Netflix recently announced a new survival competition show, to be hosted by Ritchson, that will challenge a group of high-profile influencers to show off their resilience and grit. Produced by Bunim/Murray, the same team behind The Real World, this untitled series is sounding a bit like a modern take on The Simple Life, where Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton attempted to be “normal” people in Arkansas.

These poor souls that Ritchson aims to push to their limits will have to give up their creature comforts and rely on their long-forgotten instincts, according to Tudum’s press release. It’s going to be an intense ride, led by showrunner Jay Bienstock, who’s known for creating iconic shows like Survivor and The Apprentice. Is this the first step towards Ritchson’s presidential campaign, or just a chance to see him in action challenging some influencers on Netflix? Either way, it’s another opportunity to see this “avid survivalist” outside of Prime Video’s Reacher and on Netflix, where he’s proven his mettle in projects like War Machine. We know Ritchson is 6-foot-3, but details like the show’s premiere date and title are still a mystery.
