EJ Tackett Dominates Pilgrim’s PBA Ohio Classic
In the aftermath of a tough defeat at the USBC Masters, EJ Tackett wasted no time in making his mark at the Pilgrim’s PBA Ohio Classic. Taking the competition by storm, Tackett seized the lead in the tournament after two qualifying rounds, showcasing his skills on the challenging 47-foot Dragon oil pattern. With an impressive average score of nearly 250 over the first 12 games, he racked up a total pinfall of 2,996 (+596) at Columbus Square Bowling Palace in Columbus, Ohio.
Among the top contenders trailing Tackett are Packy Hanrahan, Columbus local Chris Via, Ryan Barnes, and Darren Tang. Meanwhile, Tomas Käyhkö clings to the 40th spot, with a total pinfall of 2,804, necessitating an average of over 233 to stay in the competition.
Despite the heartbreak of a close loss to Boog Krol at the USBC Masters, where one more strike could have secured the victory, Tackett maintained his composure and focused on his performance at the Pilgrim’s PBA Ohio Classic. Reflecting on the defeat, Tackett admitted, “The loss… sucked. Honestly, I was a little bit depressed Sunday night and still felt a little bit of it coming over here Monday morning. But once we got on the lanes in practice yesterday and for score this morning, I was able to put it behind me.”
For Tackett, resilience is key in bouncing back from setbacks and capitalizing on victories. His determination and skill on the lanes continue to cement his reputation as a top contender in the world of professional bowling.
