New Pizza Movie Offers Grisly Twist on ‘This Is Your Brain on Drugs’

Can’t wait for 4/20? Get the fun started early with “Pizza Movie” hitting Hulu soon. The upcoming film stars Gaten Matarazzo of “Stranger Things” and Sean Giambrone from “The Goldbergs” and “Solar Opposites.” They share the screen as college roommates testing the waters of a new experimental psychedelic drug. In a new teaser clip, think “Groundhog Day” meets “Scanners,” where they find out words have power – and it’s not always pretty! (Note: NSFW language alert!)

As they navigate their trippy experience, these roommates realize they’ve been given a do-over if things go south. But what’s at stake isn’t just a bad trip – it could literally be a one-way ticket. The twist? The all-important pizza rescue needs to happen before it’s over, if they can just conquer the elevator drama first!

The official summary reveals, “A shy college student and his reckless roommate set out on a simple mission to grab pizza; but after a strange dose of a mind-bending experimental drug, they’re thrust into a chaotic night of absurd encounters, wild hallucinations, and unexpected revelations that could change their lives forever.” The film also stars Lulu Wilson, Jack Martin, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Marcus Scribner, Caleb Hearon, Sarah Sherman, Justin Cooley, Kevin Matthew Reyes, Adam Herschman, and Lucas Zelnick.

Penned and helmed by Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher, it’s produced by American High’s Jeremy Garelick and Will Phelps and All Things Comedy’s Billy Rosenberg. Producers include Jason Zaro, Molle DeBartolo, and Max Butler, with Gaten Matarazzo as an executive producer.

You can catch “Pizza Movie” on Hulu and Disney+ starting April 3. So grab your snacks and get ready for a wild adventure! Want more pop culture news?
