NBCUniversal and Peacock Win Privacy Lawsuit on App Information Sharing

NBCUniversal Media LLC and its Peacock TV LLC streaming service have successfully defended against a proposed class action lawsuit that claimed they violated the Video Privacy Protection Act by sharing the video-viewing information of mobile app users with third parties. Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that the plaintiffs could not establish jurisdiction by changing parties and claims, ultimately dismissing the case in a recent order.
