NAB Show: Harmonic Sports Streaming Innovations

Harmonic is gearing up to unveil some impressive upgrades to its sports streaming platform at the NAB Show in Las Vegas from April 18-22. These new features are set to revolutionize the way sports fans engage with live content.

One of the key highlights is the server-side multiview solution, which lets viewers enjoy multiple games or camera angles at the same time. This feature works seamlessly on any device, supporting HD or UHD templates with minimal lag.

In addition, Harmonic is introducing programmatic advertising for connected TV (CTV) in collaboration with Viant Technology and IRIS.TV. Utilizing AI technology, this system generates contextual segments aligned with game moments, giving advertisers the opportunity to bid on specific sports inventory in real time.

Harmonic’s Senior Director of Global SaaS Solutions, Jean Macher, emphasized the importance of delivering immersive and real-time experiences for sports fans while creating opportunities for sports rights buyers to monetize live events effectively.

Moreover, in a bid to combat piracy, Harmonic has partnered with NAGRAVISION and Irdeto to integrate forensic watermarking as a service. This tool helps rights holders identify and shut down illegal streams swiftly, without causing disruptions to the viewing experience.

Throughout the NAB Show, Harmonic will showcase these cutting-edge updates at Booth W2831. Sports enthusiasts and industry professionals alike can look forward to experiencing these innovations firsthand.
