FX’s Shōgun Season Two Cast Adds Five New Members

The global hit drama series FX’s “Shōgun” is gearing up for an exciting second season, and Disney+ has just announced five new cast members joining the Emmy® Award-winning show. Set more than a decade after the events of the first season, the new season continues the epic saga of two men from different worlds whose destinies are intertwined.

The new cast members include Risei Kukihara, Ryō Satō, Seishiro Nishida, Mantaro Koichi, and Takashi Yamaguchi. They will be joining the talented ensemble that includes Emmy® Award winner Hiroyuki Sanada, Cosmo Jarvis, Fumi Nikaidō, Ren Meguro, Asami Mizukawa, and many more.

Each new cast member brings their own unique talent and background to the show. For example, Ryō Satō, who plays the character “Rin,” graduated from Tokyo’s Nihon University College of Art and has a rich history in theater, film, and television. Similarly, Takashi Yamaguchi, who portrays “Kanō,” has over 30 years of experience in the industry, with notable roles in international productions like “The Last Samurai” and “Pachinko.”

The casting for season two has been expertly handled by Laura Schiff and Kei Kawamura, who won an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Casting in a Drama Series for their work on the first season.

“Shōgun” is based on James Clavell’s bestselling novel and is the brainchild of creators Rachel Kondo & Justin Marks. The show is a gripping historical drama that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
