Rhea Seehorn Responds to Quentin Tarantino’s Critique of TV Appearance

Rhea Seehorn, star of the sci-fi series Pluribus, recently responded to Quentin Tarantino’s comments devaluing TV as a forgettable medium compared to film. This all started when Tarantino casually mentioned during a 2024 podcast that movies have a more lasting impact on audiences. But Seehorn, known for her roles in Better Call Saul and Pluribus, firmly disagrees. She believes that memorable storytelling is what really stays with you, regardless of the format.

During an interview at the SXSW festival, Seehorn expressed her disagreement with Tarantino’s view. She highlighted how certain TV shows like The Leftovers and Six Feet Under have left a lasting impression on her, emphasizing that the power of storytelling is what truly resonates with viewers. Vince Gilligan, the creator of Better Call Saul and Pluribus, chimed in, acknowledging Tarantino’s perspective while noting that everyone has their own truths.

Tarantino is no stranger to controversial comments, having faced criticism previously for his remarks on actors like Paul Dano. Despite the backlash, actors like Daniel Day-Lewis and Ben Stiller came to Dano’s defense, praising his talent and skill. Seehorn, on the other hand, has been celebrated for her role in Pluribus, which earned her a Golden Globe and is expected to garner her an Emmy nomination this year.

Pluribus, Seehorn and Gilligan’s latest collaboration, premiered on Apple TV+ in 2025 and follows the story of a novelist named Carol saving the world from a transformative virus. With Seehorn’s stellar performance and Gilligan’s creative storytelling, the show has garnered critical acclaim and solidified Seehorn as a powerhouse in the world of television.
