Sarah Michelle Gellar discusses canceled ‘Buffy’ reboot pilot on Page Six Radio
Sarah Michelle Gellar recently shared her thoughts about the canceled “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reboot pilot during an interview with Page Six Radio hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy. Gellar, known for her role in “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” admitted that she hopes the pilot doesn’t see the light of day because it was unfinished and believes everyone would have an opinion on it.
The actress explained that pilots are typically not final products, and they serve as learning tools to make adjustments and improvements before a show is greenlit. She emphasized that the leaked pilot script is inaccurate and urged fans not to watch it if it somehow gets released.
Gellar also disclosed that the original “Buffy” pilot from the ’90s was quite different from what the show eventually became. She encouraged fans to support the original series by streaming it and to check out her latest movie, “Ready or Not 2.”
In an Instagram post, Gellar announced that Hulu decided not to move forward with the new “Buffy” revival, disappointing many fans. She revealed that one Hulu executive, who was not a fan of the original series, played a significant role in the project being scrapped.
Despite the setback, Gellar remains optimistic and appreciates the support from fans throughout the years. She expressed gratitude to her followers and encouraged them to continue enjoying the original “Buffy” series and her ongoing projects.
