Hulu greenlights ‘Lex’ comedy pilot from writer Sean Clements and EP Paul Simms
Hulu is bringing some new comedy to your screen with a pilot order for a show called Lex, created by writer-producer Sean Clements and EP Paul Simms, known for their work on Unstable and Workaholics.
The show’s premise revolves around Lex, a former reality star who unwittingly captures a murder on camera during a $20 Cameo video. Suddenly thrust into a massive conspiracy, he’s on the run from dangerous enemies who want him gone. Drawing on his reality TV experience, Lex must navigate treacherous waters to stay alive, uncover the truth, and make his way back onto the small screen.
This exciting project is part of Hulu’s lineup of new comedies in the works, including titles like 1266 from Onyx Collective, C-League by writer Charlie Hall, Group Chat led by La La Anthony, and Last Look from the talented duo Taika Waititi and Jason Kim.
Sean Clements, one of the creative minds behind Lex, is currently lending his talents as a writer and co-executive producer on Apple TV’s Severance. His previous works span across platforms, from Netflix’s Unstable to Comedy Central’s Workaholics. Simms, the other half of this dynamic duo, is an acclaimed writer with multiple Emmy nominations under his belt, having worked on hit shows like What We Do in the Shadows and Atlanta.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project and other news from the world of streaming entertainment!
