Dylan O’Brien Cast as Disgraced Reality Star in Hulu Comedy ‘Lex’
Dylan O’Brien has landed the starring role in the upcoming Hulu comedy pilot “Lex.” The show follows Lex, a disgraced former reality star who unwittingly captures a murder in the background of a $20 Cameo video. Suddenly, he finds himself entangled in a global conspiracy, on the run from dangerous forces out to get him. Drawing on his experience navigating the toxic world of reality TV, Lex must fight to survive, uncover the truth, and ultimately make his way back onto the small screen.
The pilot for “Lex” was greenlit back in March, and if it gets picked up for a full series, it will mark O’Brien’s return to regular television since his time on “Teen Wolf.” While he’s been primarily focused on films, starring in projects like the “Maze Runner” series, as well as recent films like “Send Help,” “Saturday Night,” and “Ponyboi.” O’Brien also won the Special Jury Award for Acting at Sundance for his role in the indie film “Twinless” and received a nomination at the 2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards. He will next be seen in the Apple drama “Being Heumann.”
In addition to starring in “Lex,” O’Brien is also an executive producer on the show. The series is created and written by Sean Clements. O’Brien is represented by WME, Principal Entertainment LA, and Lichter Grossman.
