Ted Lasso Fan Favorite Discusses Potential Season 4 Return With Cast Absence

Phil Dunster, known for his role as Jamie Tartt on the hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, has recently addressed the potential for a season 4 comeback. While he was not initially included in the official cast list announced in July, sightings of him on the show’s Richmond set in September 2025 have sparked rumors of his return.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Dunster hinted at the possibility of appearing in season 4, saying, “Never say never, and fingers crossed.” When asked about filming by PEOPLE, he shared, “Yes. Maybe. Maybe,” expressing his excitement to possibly reconnect with the cast and see what’s in store for fans.

After initial reports suggested Dunster would not return due to scheduling conflicts, he clarified in an interview with the Always Be Comedy podcast that nothing was set in stone. He mentioned that while season 4 has been greenlit, it’s unclear if he will be a part of it, emphasizing that the future of his character remains uncertain.

Ted Lasso fans witnessed Jamie Tartt’s transformation from an egotistical player to a mature and team-driven leader, culminating in a heartfelt reunion with his father in the season 3 finale. As speculation continues, only time will tell if we’ll see more of Tartt’s journey unfold in future episodes.
