New Cast Members Announced for Season 2 of “Chad Powers” on Disney Plus
One of the standout shows of last year was the comedy series “Chad Powers”, featuring Glen Powell in the lead role. The show is inspired by the “Eli’s Places” segment from ESPN and Omaha Productions, where Eli Manning went incognito with prosthetics for a walk-on tryout at Penn State.
Set eight years after an unfortunate incident derails his college football career, Russ Holliday, played by Powell, tries to revive his dreams by masquerading as Chad Powers. Season one also features Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny, and Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson.
Exciting news for the upcoming second season has been revealed by Deadline. Guest stars Colin Woodell, Gillian Jacobs, Carey O’Donnell, and Nate Varrone will be joining the cast. Woodell will play Jay, a charming Catfish alum, while Jacobs takes on the role of Jerri Dougan, a Catfish superfan who is convinced of a conspiracy. O’Donnell will portray Mr. Brent, head of USG cheerleading, and Varrone will play Dustin, an unwitting participant in the Chad Powers charade.
The half-hour comedy “Chad Powers” is a Hulu original created by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron, with an impressive list of executive producers including Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, and Glen Powell himself. The series is produced by 20th Television and is available to stream on Hulu and Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the US, as well as Disney+ internationally.
