Scrubs Reboot Draws 11.3 Million Viewers in 5 Days
It seems like the charm of “Scrubs” is still going strong, as the reboot of the popular sitcom on ABC has really captured the attention of viewers.
In just five days, the “Scrubs” premiere racked up an impressive 11.36 million views across ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and various digital platforms. This information comes from Nielsen live-plus-three-day viewing data and internal stats from Disney.
What’s even more impressive is the show’s performance on streaming platforms. The “Scrubs” premiere brought in the largest audience for an ABC comedy episode and ABC series debut on streaming in over a year. This record-breaking streak hasn’t been seen since the premiere of “Shifting Gears” back in January 2025, based on five days of viewing on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
In terms of linear viewership, “Scrubs” claimed the top spot as the highest-rated comedy telecast among adults aged 18-49. With a 0.74 rating in live-plus-three-day viewing across all broadcast networks, it’s been over a year since we’ve seen these kinds of numbers (excluding post-NFL telecasts), not since January 8 to be exact.
The revival of the series has brought back the original main cast after more than 15 years since the show ended. Zach Braff is back as J.D., Sarah Chalke reprises her role as Elliot, and Donald Faison returns as Turk, alongside other familiar faces like Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley.
The show’s creator, Bill Lawrence, shared his excitement about the challenge of maintaining the chemistry between J.D. and Turk while allowing them to grow into more mature roles. The premiere of “Scrubs” included a two-episode debut, with the remaining nine episodes set to be released weekly on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and available for streaming the next day on Hulu.
The series continues on Wednesday, March 4, with an episode that sees Elliot dealing with a difficult patient, J.D. exploring online doctor reviews, and Turk teaching his interns about new surgical technology and life lessons they didn’t expect.
