Prime Video to Stream All of SCTV in March

Exciting news for Canadian comedy fans! Starting on March 3, Prime Video will offer the entire collection of the iconic SCTV series for streaming in Canada. This is a big deal because it’s been tough to find the show anywhere else, besides a few episodes on YouTube. Originally broadcast between 1976 and 1984, SCTV is set in a fictional TV station and helped kickstart the careers of many famous Canadians like Catherine O’Hara, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Martin Short, Rick Moranis, and Harold Ramis.

For Canadian viewers and comedy buffs, this is a fantastic development. And maybe it will get people talking about the SCTV reunion that was filmed back in 2018. Directed by Martin Scorsese and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the special brought together Levy, O’Hara, Short, Dave Thomas, Andrea Martin, and Joe Flaherty. Although this reunion was supposed to be released in 2018 through Netflix and CTV, it never happened. Flaherty later mentioned that the project had been put on hold, but Insight Productions, one of the companies involved, clarified that it was just postponed due to Scorsese’s busy schedule. As of now, the fate of this special remains uncertain.

So get ready to enjoy some classic Canadian comedy on Prime Video starting next month!
