Ryan Coogler’s X-Files Reboot Greenlit by Hulu

Exciting news for all you Ryan Coogler fans out there! The talented director of Sinners is bringing back a classic TV show we all know and love. Hulu has given the green light to a pilot of Coogler’s X-Files reboot, a project that has been in the works for three years, according to Deadline. Coogler has an exclusive five-year television deal with Disney, Hulu’s parent company.

In this reboot, Coogler will be taking on the roles of both director and writer for the pilot episode. Joining him is Jennifer Yale, who will serve as the showrunner, known for her work on The Copenhagen Test. And we can expect to see Danielle Deadwyler, known for her roles in Till and The Harder They Fall, as one of the co-leads.

The show will follow the original storyline of two FBI agents as they tackle cases involving paranormal and unexplained phenomena. While we’re all excited about the reboot, there’s no word yet on whether the original stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will make an appearance.

This announcement came on a big day for Coogler, as he recently won the BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay for Sinners. Coogler also made headlines this year with 16 Oscar nominations for Sinners, including nods for Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture. Fans of Coogler’s work can also look forward to his other projects, including Creed, Black Panther, and the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
