Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ Series Wins Two Annie Awards on Disney+

Pixar has hit a home run with its Disney+ series “Win or Lose,” their very first venture into episodic television. This sports-centered miniseries, following a middle-school co-ed softball team, scored big at the 53rd Annual Annie Awards, taking home two out of six nominations.

Nominated across various categories, “Win or Lose” clinched the titles for Best TV Media – Limited Series and Best Music – TV/Media for its impressive music by Ramin Djawadi, known for scoring Marvel Cinematic Universe films like Iron Man and Eternals. The competition was tough, with four Disney+ series vying for the trophy in the Limited Series category.

The eighth episode and series finale, named “Home,” stood out and secured victory for “Win or Lose.” The series showcases a groundbreaking storyline, notably featuring the first openly-Christian character in a Disney film or series in almost two decades.

Originally scheduled for release in 2023 but premiered on February 19, 2025, on Disney+, “Win or Lose” faced a bit of controversy when a transgender character’s storyline was removed, sparking discussions and differing opinions. Despite this, the series offers wholesome entertainment for viewers of all ages.

If you haven’t caught “Win or Lose” yet, all eight episodes are available for streaming on Disney+. After watching, share your thoughts on social media and let Pixar know if you’re eager for more TV series from their talented team.
