Deano: Coming Soon to Hulu and Disney Plus

Exciting news for animated show fans! If you love adult animated series like “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers,” get ready for a new show hitting Hulu and Disney+ soon. It’s called “Deano,” and it’s about a mischievous eight-year-old boy with a heart of gold. This show blends modern family chaos with sharp satire, promising a mix of fun and clever storytelling.

Deano, our spirited protagonist, is a cheeky charmer with a tough exterior hiding a soft side. He’s growing up in a run-down neighborhood, in a house that really should be condemned. Despite his tough surroundings, Deano treats everyone with kindness, from local troublemakers to the town’s police chief. And his friendship with Kit, his timid best friend from the wealthy side of town, adds heart to the series.

Created and written by Australian creators Dean Thomas and David Ferrier, “Deano” is co-produced by Australian animation studio Hooligan Animation, BBC Studios, and 20th Television Animation. With Joe Brumm, the mind behind “Bluey,” as the script editor and executive producer, you can expect top-notch storytelling and humor.

Excitingly, the first season of “Deano” will have eight episodes and will premiere on Hulu and Disney+ for US viewers. International audiences can catch it on Disney+ as well. If you’re in the UK, mark your calendars because the series will first debut on BBC iPlayer and BBC One, then make its way to Disney+.

Head of Scripted Pre-buy Acquisitions at the BBC, Sue Deeks, shared her excitement, saying, “I cannot wait for BBC viewers to meet Deano. He is such a mischievous, engaging, and irrepressible character, and the series is full of irreverent humor, warmth, and optimism – what a delight we have in store.”

With the success of “Bluey,” Disney is taking a great risk with “Deano,” and partnering with the BBC will likely help manage costs. But in the end, the show’s success will determine if this collaboration pays off for Disney.
