New Episodes of The Muppet Show Rumored to be in Development
Taylor on episode 345 of his podcast Fine Tooning. Taylor mentioned that they are actively developing new episodes for future seasons, which he is hopeful will come to fruition.The Muppet Show revival special, featuring Sabrina Carpenter, premiered to rave reviews. It initially received a perfect 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, which has since slightly decreased to 98% along with an audience score to match. Critics have praised the show, stating, “It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights — this spirited return to The Muppet Show’s roots is clever, earnest, and feels exactly right.”Directed by Alex timbers, the special showcased performances by beloved Muppet characters performed by Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel. In addition to Carpenter, the special featured appearances by Maya Rudolph and executive producer Seth Rogen. Not only did Carpenter star in the special, but she also co-produced it alongside Timbers, Vogel, Jacobson, and others, including David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter, Michael Steinbach, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee, and Albertina Rizzo.
