Brendan Fraser Rental Family Coming to Disney+ Next Week
Disney+ is bringing Brendan Fraser’s heartwarming comedy film, “Rental Family,” to its platform on February 18th. Despite just hitting theaters at the end of 2025, the movie is already making its way to streaming. Unlike Disney’s usual timeline for releasing theatrical films, they are moving quickly with their 20th Century and Searchlight productions.
In “Rental Family,” Fraser plays an actor who joins a rental family agency in Japan, taking on roles as a surrogate family member to strangers. This unique job helps him find a sense of purpose and belonging in a tale that blurs the lines between performance and reality. The film’s setting in modern-day Tokyo adds to its charm.
While the film only started its theatrical run in late November 2025, some regions have only recently seen it in cinemas. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting its digital release, mark your calendars for February 18th.
