Ghost Elephants: National Geographic Trailer for Disney+ and Hulu Premier on March 8

National Geographic recently debuted the trailer for the documentary “Ghost Elephants,” slated to air on their network on March 7th and stream on Disney+ and Hulu the following day. Directed, written, and narrated by Werner Herzog, the film follows National Geographic Explorer Steve Boyes in search of the legendary ghost elephants of Lisima.

The documentary captures Boyes’ journey through the mist-covered highlands of Angola with master trackers, aiming to uncover the truth behind these elusive creatures. The trailer promises a captivating exploration of one of the largest land mammals ever recorded, believed to be descendants of the ancient ghost elephants.

For fans eager to dive deeper into the story, Abramorama will be hosting a special nationwide theatrical simulcast screening on February 26th, followed by a live Q&A with Herzog and Boyes. The film will then hit select theaters in North America starting February 27th.

“Ghost Elephants” had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in August 2025, with National Geographic Documentary Films securing streaming rights shortly after.
