First UFC Show on CBS Details Revealed
When UFC signed a major media rights deal with Paramount, one exciting aspect was the promise of events being simulcast on CBS. Fast forward a month into the deal, and we now have the details on the first UFC show to air on network television.
The upcoming UFC 326 event on Saturday, March 7, will be a historic moment as part of the prelims and main card will be broadcast on CBS. The action kicks off at 8 p.m. ET, with select bouts from the prelims and main card airing for two hours. However, the highly anticipated main event lightweight bout between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira will be exclusively on Paramount+.
This partnership between Paramount+ and CBS will bring UFC 326: HOLLOWAY vs. OLIVEIRA 2 to viewers live on Saturday, March 7. It’s a big deal as it marks the first time a UFC event will be on a broadcast network.
For fans tuning in on CBS, they’ll catch the final hour of the prelims and the first hour of the main card, giving them a taste of the action. But to catch the main event, viewers will need to subscribe to Paramount+. This setup could be a preview of what’s to come in future UFC events as well.
While there’s no official word yet on how many UFC events on Paramount+ will also air in part on CBS, Dana White has hinted that the White House event on June 14 could be one. In an interview last August, White suggested that a high-profile event from the White House could potentially be broadcast live and free on CBS.
It will be exciting to see how this partnership between CBS and Paramount+ unfolds, offering more exposure for UFC while giving fans a mix of network television and streaming options. Stay tuned for more updates as this groundbreaking collaboration continues to evolve.
