Disney Launches Super Bowl Campaign: What to Expect on Disney Plus

Disney has some exciting news for all the sports fans out there – the Super Bowl is heading to Disney’s platforms, including ESPN and ABC, in 2027! They launched a brand new campaign called “We’re Going” to kick things off in style.

Imagine all your favorite Disney characters coming together for the biggest sports event of the year – that’s exactly what this campaign does. From Buzz Lightyear and Woody to Darth Vader, Iron Man, and even Moana, there are over 60 iconic characters making appearances in this video. The trailer takes you on a whirlwind tour through the Disney universe, ending with Maui from Moana transforming into an eagle and joining Lightning McQueen and others on the road to Los Angeles.

The concept behind this campaign is over 40 years in the making, inspired by the famous “I’m going to Disney World” tradition started by Super Bowl champions. This phrase became a staple of Super Bowl celebrations, and now it’s the creative foundation for ESPN’s first Super Bowl marketing campaign.

According to Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company, “‘We’re Going’ brings together the scale of ESPN, Disney’s brands, and characters, and the excitement of the Super Bowl for a shared moment that showcases the significance of this milestone for our company and fans.” Tina Thornton, Executive Vice President at ESPN, added, “It sets the tone for how we’re approaching Super Bowl LXI – by combining the storytelling power of Disney with ESPN’s voice and passion to engage fans every step of the way.”

The campaign was a collaborative effort between ESPN, The Walt Disney Studios, and various creative agencies, aiming to create an unforgettable Super Bowl experience for fans. With the Super Bowl set to air on ESPN on Disney+, it’s clear that Disney is pulling out all the stops to make this a memorable event for everyone.
