Fubo reports subscriber numbers after Disney merger 2025
Fubo recently shared some exciting updates about its subscriber numbers following its merger with Disney. In the first quarter of 2025, Fubo reported having 6.2 million subscribers across North America. While this number was slightly lower than the 6.3 million subscribers they had a year earlier, it’s important to note that this figure includes customers of both Fubo and Hulu + Live TV after the merger with Disney.
When it comes to their financials, Fubo saw a significant increase in overall revenue, which rose by 40% to $1.55 billion. On a pro forma basis after closing the Disney’s Hulu merger, their first-quarter revenue showed a 6% year-on-year increase, totaling $1.68 billion. In terms of profitability, Fubo narrowed its net loss to $19.1 million compared to $38.6 million the previous year. Their pro forma loss also decreased to $46.4 million from $130.4 million. Additionally, the pro forma adjusted EBITDA amounted to $41.4 million, up from $22 million the previous year.
Following the completion of the Disney merger, Fubo announced a partnership with ESPN to expand the reach of its streaming platform through a reseller and marketing arrangement, pending the finalization of definitive agreements. During an analyst call, Fubo’s co-founder and CEO, David Gandler, discussed plans to migrate Fubo’s advertising tech stack into the Disney Ad Server. This move will enable Fubo’s ad inventory to be bundled and sold alongside premium inventory from Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu, creating new opportunities for advertisers and viewers alike.
These developments highlight Fubo’s ongoing growth and strategic initiatives in the competitive streaming entertainment landscape.
