Excited for the Return of The Muppet Show?

We all have those childhood obsessions that never seem to fade, right? For me, it’s The Muppets in any form – movies, cartoons, even that unique “30 Rock” style show they did a while back. But my absolute favorite has to be The Muppet Show itself, from the original series to the Disney Channel revival Muppets Tonight.

Whenever friends spot Muppet memes or merch, they know it’s right up my alley. Anything Jim Henson-related, count me in! I’m all about that nostalgic memorabilia, rewatching old episodes, and even decking out my child’s nursery with Muppet decor – Kermit quilts and replica puppets galore. Our Christmas tree skips the angel topper in favor of a retro star held up by Animal – it’s a Muppet extravaganza!

There’s something magical about The Muppet Show that takes me right back to the best parts of growing up. The live performances, dance numbers, skits, and Fozzie’s jokes all hit the same, if not better, as they did back in the day. Watching with “older eyes” reveals new layers of humor – it’s pure comedy gold. Each character has their own life lessons to impart, whether on how to be a better person or what pitfalls to avoid.

One character who stands out for me is Miss Piggy, a top influencer in my life. She’s taught me about loyalty, confidence, and not taking any nonsense from anyone. And, well, also how NOT to treat your loved ones – sorry, Kermit! Although I adore revisiting old episodes, I’m thrilled to see the Muppet franchise branching out with reboots like Muppet Babies, Muppets Mayhem, and charming shorts on Disney+. My son is already a huge fan, with the Swedish Chef as his personal favorite!

Many fans speculate that this special event could be a trial run for a full-fledged show revival.
