Paramount+ UFC Debut Draws High Viewership

The UFC’s debut event on Paramount+ was a hit, drawing in a strong viewership and showcasing the promotion’s popularity. UFC 324 marked a significant shift as the organization moved away from pay-per-view to streaming. With Paramount’s acquisition of the broadcast rights for $7.7 billion over seven years, fans can now enjoy UFC events at a lower cost, making it more accessible to both current and lapsed fans.

The event featured an interim lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett, with Gaethje emerging victorious and claiming the interim title. UFC CEO Dana White expressed his excitement over the event’s success, stating that it exceeded Paramount’s expectations by double.

The viewership numbers for UFC 324 on Paramount+ validated White’s claims, with nearly five million streaming views and over seven million households tuning in across the United States and Latin America. Adobe Analytics and Nielsen Media reported that UFC 324 reached more homes than any other UFC event in almost a decade, highlighting the continued demand for UFC content.

Social media engagement was also high during UFC 324, with the event trending worldwide for six consecutive hours and generating 186,000 mentions – a 127% increase from the previous month. These numbers bode well for Paramount’s streaming service, indicating a promising future for their partnership with the UFC.

Fans won’t have to wait long for the next UFC event on Paramount+, as UFC 325 is set to air on Saturday, Jan. 31. The event features a featherweight title rematch between Diego Lopes and champion Alexander Volkanovski, with several other notable fighters on the card. Starting at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT, the main card will deliver another exciting night of UFC action.
