Disney Pulls ‘Frozen’ from Lineup Starting January 26

If you’re a fan of Frozen and planning a trip to Walt Disney World, you’ll want to know that Frozen Ever After is getting a big makeover starting January 26, 2026. The ride, which has been around for nearly 10 years, will be closed for renovations, including the installation of new, state-of-the-art audio-animatronics.

Disney Parks fans have long been critical of the facial projection technology used on the current audio-animatronics in Frozen Ever After. Characters like Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven have been known to malfunction, which can be pretty spooky for guests. But now, guests at Walt Disney World Resort will soon get to enjoy the same high-quality audio-animatronics technology found in the Frozen rides at other Disney parks around the world.

After delighting fans for a decade, the Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff Audio-Animatronics figures are finally getting an update inspired by the advanced figures in Hong Kong Disneyland. The ride will be closed from January 26, 2026, for several weeks to replace the facial projection animatronics with new, sculpted characters. So, make sure to catch the current version of the ride at EPCOT before it closes on January 25.
